To remember our interconnection is to reclaim our humanity.

Mindful Craft

Together at The Interwoven Institute we are:

    joyful communities of contemplative makers

  • RECONNECTING

to ourselves, each other, & the earth through mindful craft

  • EXPANDING

ways of knowing through craft-based inquiry

An Invitation to Come Back to Life

We are living in a world of separation and disconnection; in a culture that defines our value by our productivity; in a time where what is real and what is false is barely discernable.

But we can choose to step into a different experience of life, one shaped by interdependence, presence, solidity, and joy. To get there, we need to become (re)connected to our bodies, to our spirits, and to our material environment.

Making things with our hands is a powerful technology for this reconnection, and the place where we begin.

We are the fabric of things.

We are interwoven.

"Your work is so thoughtful and holds a great deal of accessible promise for many who want to help reconnect society with our roots and the earth. I know Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh said, “don’t just do something — sit there!” Your work seems to allow for both the doing and the sitting. As products of the “Protestant work ethic” in this country, we need heart, mind, and hands. Thank you!"
